What this class works with

A complete class returning to the image of awareness as a flame, a light that doesn't change or beautify what it reveals, just brings what's already there into view. Warrior 2 and Warrior 1 build into Parivrtta Trikonasana (revolved triangle), then thread through the three-legged weave into Upavishtha Konasana, exploring the same shape freshly on each side rather than repeating it identically.

In this class

  • •Seated centering with the image of a lit flame that reveals without altering, sensing the body as one presence and noticing the breath
  • •Anjali salutation with the Om and Shanti chant
  • •Standing weight shifts forward-back and side-to-side, then circular hip movements
  • •Dynamic pendulum with a spiraling arm pattern (turning to one side, reaching an arm forward and back) woven between pendulum cycles, building into a rolling ragdoll through the back
  • •Warrior 2 into a back-heel-lift Warrior 1, then Parivrtta Trikonasana (revolved triangle) with a block, reaching from the center rather than the fingertips
  • •From three-legged downward dog, the lifted leg weaves underneath the opposite arm and sweeps through into Upavishtha Konasana, explored freshly on each side rather than repeated identically
  • •Recurring child/cat/cow pattern between cycles
  • •Windshield wipers with the knees dropping side to side
  • •Hanging bridge with the arms reaching overhead then resting beside the head, rolled through a few cycles
  • •Shavasana with legs resting on a chair
