What this class works with

A class built around slowing down as a felt practice rather than an idea, exploring what it means to receive the process of slowing rather than demand or idealize a pose's shape. The physical spine moves from dynamic pendulums into floating chair and floating Malasana, out through lunges and three-legged downward dog, and eventually into Trikonasana and Gomukhasana with side bends, with later rounds inviting the forms to melt one into the next.

In this class

  • •Dynamic pendulum sequences building into floating chair and floating Malasana forward bends
  • •Lunge with back heel lifted, hips rocking forward and back, releasing into extended lunge with hands walked back
  • •Three-legged downward dog flowing through high plank, four-point kneeling, and the recurring child, cat, cow pattern
  • •Trikonasana with a block, knee flexion and extension while looking down and up, then Gomukhasana with side bend to the back of the mat
  • •Later rounds invite melting one form into the next without pause, cloud into rain into river into ocean
  • •hanging bridge with arm reach, head rolls side to side, Shavasana with legs resting on a chair
